The Copernicus4Energy workshop intends to bring together stakeholders of the Earth Observation (EO) and the Energy sectors, in view of highlighting the potential of Copernicus to contribute to current and emerging needs of the energy industries, and especially the energy transition.
The objectives of the workshop are:
To identify intermediate and end-users' needs and requirements in the Energy sector;
To present the current Copernicus offer in terms of data and service information for the energy sector;
To assess and characterise EO-based applications supporting energy industries and policies at EU and global level, including key complementary data either in situ or socio-economic or private which would need to be combined with EO for validation or further added-value processing;
To discuss the way forward in terms of new Copernicus products and evolution of the programme's Space Component, with a focus on the necessary data analytics, computing science or modelling required to develop new energy services/products/solutions for the end users (processing, modelling, in situ data or socio-economic data).
